M2 is a new compact capacitive fingerprint sensor with several significant advantages: super image quality; 256 gray scale values in every single pixel; the reflective capacitive measurement method enabling the use of a thick protective sureface coating, preventing the user from directly touching the CMOS circuitry. Thanks to a new durable surface coating, M2 is protected against ESD well above 12 kV, as well as the everyday wear-and-tear. M2 also includes a micro-ergonomic guidance, simplifying proper fingerprint alignment and hence improving alogorithm performance.
